From the start.
This family has a special place in my heart. I first took their family photos when I was a Sophomore in College almost five years ago. A lot has changed since then, including what I now know about photographing families (and kids!). But, my favorite thing about the Petkaus is their love for each other which is clearly expressed by the way they interact in this year’s collection of family photos.
Creative Props
They had a great idea for a storytelling prop: to take gallery wrapped canvases and paint a design on the surface. Then, they adhered vinyl letters to the canvas before they painted a dark color over the top. Then, after peeling back the vinyl letters they were left with names and ages/life-stages for each person. I love this family, and their love and creativity in return.
