Bev + Dave's Wedding, 2014

I was in a wedding in October 2013 that impacted my entire philosophy for photography. The Maid of Honor gave a beautiful toast to the Bride and Groom about the love they felt on their wedding day. She said, “Take in as much as you can today and find joy in the celebration, but I hope you find that today is the day you love each other the least.”

I love the idea that a wedding would be the day that a couple loves each other the least, because each day after they are finding ways to love each other even more than the day before. As a photographer, I hope to capture moments of love now that will also celebrate the lifetime of love to come.

This collection of wedding photographs are from the Duncan-Rhitarchik wedding I covered with my friend Brad Nemitz on January 18, 2014. The people and moments that stepped in front of my assistant photographer’s lens or my own lens on that special day have become part of a lasting memory of the love the Bride & Groom share.

Even moreso, this idea of love being a continually evolving and shaping thing makes it even more important to create lasting memories that a Bride & Groom will look back on in 5, 10, 15, 20+ years and realize this: that they loved each other then, and they love each other even more now.

If I have done that, I’ve accomplished everything I set out to do as a wedding photographer.

“The photos are AWESOME! And, wow so many to look at!
Dave and I have really enjoyed going through them and reliving our big day!”
